Fantasies

Traipsing around a cobblestone ruin, filled with vines and moss creeping through the cracks. There were statues of knights on their horses, cracked and crumbled from the wrath of time. The courtyard illuminated in the mid afternoon sun, wind gently rustling the trees that settled over the ruins, roots pillaging every weakness they could find.

It had a beauty to it, as beautiful as you in your knee length dress, a secret game of hide and seek as we toed through the old stone. You brought me to the edge, staring over a cliffside sea. The spray filled the air with its salty tang as i grabbed your hand and twirled your body into mine. I kissed you upon the ruins of someone’s great great grandmother, but to us another Tuesday gone by. Your laugh as contagious as your smile, you lips as soft as the breeze that caressed us.

Inspired by a dream I had of this recurring setting of being in some ruins on a seaside cliff. There are huge chess piece statues surrounded by moss and stone, along with ruins of pillars and courtyards of an old medieval building.
